1. Privacy-First Purpose & Scope
Safe4U operates as a B2B2C ecosystem consisting of a Web Panel, a Dealer App, and a specialized Mobile Device Management (MDM) finance protection profile. Its primary purpose is to assist retailers and finance companies in securely enrolling customers and managing device locking functionality for smartphones sold on EMI (Equated Monthly Installments).
This application is installed and utilized with the explicit, documented consent of the customer at the time of purchase. Safe4U is NOT a surveillance tool, spyware, or personal tracking application. Its scope is strictly limited to securing the financial interest of the retailer until the device is fully paid off.
- Covers the Safe4U Website, Dealer Mobile App, and Customer Device Lock profile.
- Activated only after the customer signs the finance agreement and provides explicit consent.
- Focuses entirely on secure enrollment, payment reminders, and device access restriction upon payment default.
2. Information We Collect (Prominent Disclosure)
To provide core functionality across our Website and Apps, Safe4U collects specific data points depending on whether you are a Retailer/Dealer or an End-Customer. We believe in absolute transparency.
Data Collected from Retailers/Dealers (via Web Panel & Dealer App):
- Account Information: Name, business name, mobile number, email address, and secure login credentials.
- Device Info & Logs: IP addresses, browser types (for website users), and app usage logs to ensure security and prevent unauthorized access.
- Data Collected from Customers (via Dealer App during Enrollment):
- Device Identifiers: IMEI numbers (Slot 1 & 2), Device Model, and Hardware IDs to uniquely bind the device to the loan account.
- KYC & Camera Data: A customer photograph and digital signature are captured directly via the Dealer App during the setup wizard for KYC and consent verification.
- Location & Network Data: Background/foreground location data, SIM card numbers, and network operators to help recover the device in case of theft, fraud, or unauthorized SIM changes.
3. App Permissions & Device Administrator
Google Play Store Policy requires explicit disclosure regarding the use of advanced system permissions. Depending on the Safe4U application being used, the following permissions are strictly required for core functionality:
DEALER APP PERMISSIONS (Available on Play Store):
- Camera & Storage: Required strictly for the Retailer to scan QR codes, capture the customer's KYC photograph, and record the digital signature during the EMI enrollment process.
- Internet & Network State: Required to securely transmit enrollment data to our encrypted cloud servers.
- CUSTOMER DEVICE PERMISSIONS (MDM Profile):
- DEVICE ADMINISTRATOR (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN): Mandatory for the app to function as an EMI locker. It allows the software to lock the screen, disable factory reset, and prevent unauthorized uninstallation until the loan is fully repaid.
- Display Over Other Apps: Used to show un-dismissible payment reminder screens.
- Query All Packages: Used to block specific system applications (like Settings) during the locked state to prevent tampering.
4. Information Safe4U Strictly DOES NOT Access
We deeply value personal privacy. Safe4U is technically restricted and legally bound to never access your private, sensitive, or personal data. The platform is not a data extraction tool.
Retailers, finance partners, and system administrators cannot view, copy, or access personal files on the customer's device under any circumstances.
- No access to Personal Photos, Videos, or Gallery content.
- No access to SMS, WhatsApp chats, Emails, or Call Logs.
- No access to Banking Apps, Passwords, OTPs (One Time Passwords), or Mobile Wallets.
- No access to Browsing History or personal document folders.
- No hidden microphone or camera surveillance capabilities.
5. How Your Information Is Used
The data collected is used exclusively for operational, authentication, and security purposes directly related to the EMI finance agreement and platform usage. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to advertisers or third-party marketers.
- To authenticate Dealers/Retailers on the Web Panel and Mobile App securely.
- To verify customer consent and securely link the IMEI to the loan account.
- To send timely payment reminders via push notifications.
- To automatically lock the customer device if an EMI payment is missed and unlock it instantly upon payment.
- To alert the finance company if the device is tampered with or if an unauthorized SIM card is inserted.
6. Data Sharing & Third-Party Access
Your data is maintained securely and is only accessible to authorized personnel who have a legitimate business need related to your specific finance agreement or dealer account.
Safe4U acts as a B2B technology provider. The customer data is primarily controlled by the specific Retailer or Finance Company from whom the device was purchased.
- Shared strictly with the specific Finance Partner/Retailer associated with the loan.
- Shared with highly secure cloud service providers (e.g., Google Firebase, AWS, Hostinger) for web hosting and real-time database management.
- Shared with Law Enforcement or Legal Authorities only if explicitly required by a valid court order or to report severe financial fraud/theft.
7. Data Security and Retention
Safe4U employs industry-standard administrative, technical, and operational security measures, including HTTPS encryption (SSL/TLS) and secure token-based authentication, to protect data from unauthorized access.
Data retention is directly tied to the dealer's active account status and the customer's loan tenure.
- All communication between the Web Panel, Dealer App, Customer Device, and our servers is heavily encrypted.
- Strict Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) ensures retailers can only access data belonging to their own enrolled customers.
- Once the EMI is fully paid and the loan is closed by the Dealer, the MDM lock profile will automatically deactivate, remove its Device Administrator rights, and allow complete uninstallation from the customer's device.
- Related workflow data is archived securely as per legal and financial accounting requirements.
8. Data Deletion Policy (User Rights)
In compliance with global data protection standards and Google Play Store policies, we provide a clear mechanism for users to request the deletion of their data.
Depending on whether you are a Dealer or a Customer, the data deletion protocol functions as follows:
- For Customers: Once your EMI loan is completely paid off, you can request the Dealer to close your loan on the Web Panel. This will permanently remove the device lock software and associated tracking data.
- For Dealers: Retailers wishing to terminate their Safe4U account and delete their business data from our servers can submit a formal request to our administrative team.
- To initiate a data deletion request, users can email us at info@safe4u.in with their registered details. We will process the request in accordance with applicable financial record-keeping laws.
9. Customer Rights and Contact Information
As a customer, you have the right to know the status of your loan and the condition of your device lock. Since Safe4U is a B2B technology platform, your primary point of contact for payment updates, lock resolutions, and account disputes is the Retailer or Finance Company that issued the loan.
If you have specific technical concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, website operations, or suspect a data breach, you may contact the Safe4U administration directly.
- Customers are advised to carefully read their physical EMI finance agreement before allowing the retailer to perform the app installation.
- For unlock requests and EMI payment updates, please contact your Retailer/Finance Partner.
- For concerns directly related to this Privacy Policy, app security, or data deletion, email us at: info@safe4u.in.
